Our beers have won awards in the Belfast International Beer Festival and
The Irish Independent Brewers Festival. The Encyclopaedia Of World Beers
(Benjamin Myers & Graham Lees) recommends Black Biddy ahead of other,
better known, Irish stouts.
Because we don't pasteurise them, it is difficult to get them to foreign
festivals, but, lest you have any doubts, here is what the experts, who
have made the effort to visit us, have to say.
"Black Biddy is my favourite stout and it is just wonderful. It is rich
and fruity, with no artificial additives, and fined with Carrigeen Moss.
Don't go west without a visit!"
What's Brewing Magazine - Tony Brooks
"Undeniably good beers!"
The Irish Times - John McKenna
"Black Biddy….. a fine treacly stout .... fires on all cylinders"
The Sunday Tribune - Tom Doorley
"Black Biddy looks like Guinness, with a lovely creamy head, but it tastes a lot better. It is sure to put Inagh on the map!"
The Star Newspaper
"Red Biddy - Interestingly, Bog Myrtle is used instead of hops to flavour the beer, giving it a distinct scent of heather"
The Bridgestone Irish Food Guide - John & Sally McKenna
"Black Biddy has a dry, grainy quality, which is quite refreshing and very satisfying. It is entirely different to the more commercial stouts of Ireland's big breweries. I can only suggest that you visit Ireland's first pub brewery for yourself"
PubspeakMagazine - Beer of the week - Barrie Pepper
"Black Biddy can only be described as the nearest thing to bottled stout of days gone by."
The BannerNewspaper
"Blonde Biddy … crisp and cool with a wheaty taste"
Magpie Magazine
"Black Biddy - an excellent stout, fresh and lively, and interestingly it uses Carrigeen Moss both to add body to the stout, and for fining, the only brewery to do this today."
The Bridgestone Irish Food Guide - John & Sally McKenna
"The stout (4.4%) is brewed from pale and crystal malts and hopped with Green Bullet and Fuggles hops. It has a rich malty aroma, a creamy and hoppy palate and a long bitter-sweet finish with a good late burst of hops"
Classic Stout & Porter - Roger Protz

"Black Biddy stout is a fine drink with a deliciously smooth texture, a dry malty flavour and an aroma that simply invites you to drink. The finish is dry and lasting"

"You are guaranteed not to have a head the following morning"
