Black Biddy

When we started to brew it, Black Biddy was the first new stout in Ireland in more than 200 years. With a rich fruity taste and a roasted aftertaste, it tastes like stout used to in Ireland. Black Biddy has received numerous accolades and received several awards - read more in the Reviews section.

The ingredients include roast barley, crystal malt, pale ale malt, and British hops. Carrigeen Moss, picked in nearby Liscannor Bay, is used to fine the beer. Fining is a technique that causes solids to drop out of the beer. Carrigeen Moss was the traditional ingredient for fining Irish stout but we are now the only brewery using it.

Read about where we got the name and recipe for our first beer in the Folklore section.
