Red Biddy
|
Creamy headed Red Biddy is a strong red Irish ale which is brewed using Pale Ale, Chocolate and Crystal Malts, and Bog Myrtle (a wild herb hand-picked from the nearby Mount Callan) which is used in the place of flavouring hops. | Bog Myrtle was used in Northern Europe in Roman times before hops were even discovered for flavouring beer. The Celts also had a strong tradition of using wild herbs to flavour beer. We have continued this link with the past while meeting new demands for locally grown produce. We are proud to bring you Red Biddy; Ireland's only herb beer. | | Read the fascinating history of Red Biddy in the Folklore section.
